Visual documentation from Paris and LA
#LaVeritePourAdama, June 2nd, 2020.
Photography by Alfredo Piola.
Stemming from the merciless killings of Black men, Black women and Black trans people in the United States of America, citizens have mobilised across the globe in support of antiracism protests. We acknowledge that systemic racism rooted in slavery and colonialism exists throughout the institutional and governmental hierarchies of the developed and developing worlds. A Magazine Curated By supports the collective voice of the Black Lives Matter as it grows louder and louder – in the hope of effecting real change from a grassroots level through to the highest levels of power. The accompanying imagery illustrates the peaceful protests that have taken place throughout June 2020 in Paris, France by Alfredo Piola and Los Angeles, USA by Ian Markell.
As an engaged member of our creative community, we implore you to educate yourself and those around you against racism in all forms.
