A Magazine Curated By celebrates 25 Years of Curation and Creation with the opening of an immersive exhibition at Union de la Jeunesse Internationale.
Bringing together 32 past guest curators, the exhibition, designed by Ciguë in collaboration with Matthieu Prat (Diplomates) and Simon Chaouat, extends the magazine’s universe beyond the page.
Objects on display include Yohji Yamamoto’s pack of cigarettes, Jun Takahashi’s silk teddy bear made for A Magazine Curated By Pierpaolo Piccioli alongside his interpretation of a Hermès Kelly bag, Kris Van Assche’s Libertad o Muerte necklace, Stephen Jones’ Planetarium hat and Giambattista Valli’s old iPhone with personal photographs.
In addition, designers contributed silhouettes representing their signature styles, including Glenn Martens (Y/Project), Kim Jones (Dior), Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (Proenza Schouler), Yohji Yamamoto, Peter Do, Thom Browne, Martine Sitbon and Lucie and Luke Meier (Jil Sander).
The exhibition also features the magazine’s complete digital archive, presented in full for the first time in collaboration with SOOT, offering visitors a chance to explore the visual and narrative evolution of A Magazine Curated By.
An immersive soundscape composed by Studio Ingmar weaves together every piece of music ever referenced in the magazine’s history, and excerpts from curators’ and editors’ letters, narrated by Editor-in-Chief Blake Abbie, guide visitors through an auditory journey shaped by the voices and sounds that define A Magazine Curated By.
With our 25-year legacy now unfolding in a physical space, A Magazine Curated By continues to celebrate the visionaries who have shaped our identity — on the page and beyond.
25 Years of Curation and Creation is on view until 30 March at Union de la Jeunesse Internationale.

Among eroded rock formations and ancient Nabataean ruins lies an oasis of sorts, one that nourishes the spirit of AlUla, Saudi Arabia. A community gathers at this oasis: Villa Hegra, the latest Saudi-French jewel in the constellation of cultural villas.
When I arrived at Nicklas Skovgaard’s Copenhagen studio, he was standing outside in the snow sipping a small cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette. He wore a navy-blue Nike baseball cap and a simple navy coat over a button-up shirt and trousers, the kind of pared-back outfit that has become something of a uniform for him. He and his team had moved into the space just only a month earlier, he said.
